MEET THE FOUNDER

More Than Just a Ride.

My name is Asadulloh, and I’m the founder of Rido Halifax. Halifax isn’t just where I’m starting this business — it’s home.

I moved to Halifax when I was 12 years old and grew up in the Clayton Park area. I went to Clayton Park Junior High, Halifax West High School, and later Dalhousie University.

In 2025, I graduated from Dalhousie University with a major in Biology and a minor in Arabic Studies. Medicine has also been a long-term interest of mine, and I’m currently applying to medical school.

But Rido Halifax started somewhere very different: behind the wheel.

It Started With Driving

I started driving Uber in Halifax in August 2023 simply because I wanted to earn some extra money. What I didn’t expect was how much I would learn from the people sitting in my car.

Since then, I’ve completed more than 3,500 rides across Uber and Lyft. Thousands of pickups. Thousands of destinations. Thousands of conversations.

And over time, I started noticing patterns — especially when it came to airport rides.

Airport Rides Are Different

An airport ride isn’t the same as a quick trip across the city. There is a flight to catch. There are bags to deal with. There may be children, seniors, an early-morning departure, a long day of travelling ahead, or someone arriving home exhausted after a flight.

  • Being on time matters.
  • Driving safely matters.
  • Keeping the car clean matters.
  • Helping with luggage matters.
  • And sometimes, simply having a good conversation matters too.

Passengers have also talked to me repeatedly about another issue: price. Especially unpredictable prices and surge pricing when they need a ride the most.

Those conversations made me start asking a bigger question: Could an airport ride be planned better from the beginning?

That Question Became Rido Halifax

Rido Halifax is my attempt to build a different kind of airport and long-distance ride experience.

Not fake luxury. Not a chauffeur fantasy. And not simply another way to request a car.

The idea is much simpler:

Plan the ride properly. Communicate clearly. Respect the traveller’s schedule. And pay attention to the small things that make the experience easier.

That means exploring things like advance booking, clearer pickup information, luggage planning, ride preferences, dependable communication and thoughtful extras that can make travelling a little less stressful.

Rido is still being built. And I don’t want to decide everything based only on what I think travellers want.

Built Locally. Shaped by Real Travellers.

One of the reasons I’m sharing Rido before launch is because I want Halifax and Nova Scotia travellers to help shape it.

What services actually matter? What would you pay for? What frustrates you about getting to and from the airport today? What would make the experience genuinely better?

Your feedback will help determine what Rido eventually becomes.

“I want Rido Halifax to become known as the company that does more than just give you a ride.”
